How long do you boil corn on the cob?

I always use 1 quart of milk with double the amount of water and 1 tablespoon of sugar into a deep pot. Add the washed corn to the pot .Cover and turn the heat on medium. When the water/milk comes to a boil, take the lid off and allow to boil for 8 minutes..Turn off heat, cover again and let corn sit in the hot water for 5 -10 minutes. Enjoy the sweetest corn you have ever tasted.= )
