It is true that he went through times of financial difficulty, but by the time he died, much of that was behind him. He was buried in the manner that was most common in those days. It was not the fact that he was in financial dire straights that dictated the manner of his interment... it was just done that way in those days.His genius was widely acknowledged, but perhaps less so by the common folk who rarely had access to the kind of concerts the nobility attended.
